If your ERP’s mobile app is the problem
You don’t have to replace your whole system to fix the field
This page is about one piece: replacing your ERP’s mobile add-on while the rest of your system stays put. The wider case, for any system of record, is on start where you are.
The office side of your ERP works, the reports work, and years of history are in there. The problem was never the system — it’s the app in your techs’ pockets, and that’s the one piece you can swap out on its own.
The math
A typical ERP’s mobile add-on runs $115 to $250 per tech, per month, depending on how long a term you’ll commit to, and in six years nothing has arrived that changed a tech’s day. The app still freezes in the field, techs still put the wrong AM or PM on a time, van stock still doesn’t match the truck, and billing is still the thing everybody puts off.
ServiceProof is $75 per tech, per month, and $25 a month for 3 office seats if you want your dispatchers on it too.
| Per tech, per month | A typical ERP’s mobile add-on | ServiceProof |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | $115 – $250 | $75 |
| Term commitment | The cheaper price needs one | None — leave at the end of any month |
| Meaningful new features since 2020 | Name one | Shipped weekly, from field requests |
| Custom work for your shop | Not available | On request |
| Your system of record | Stays yours | Stays yours — untouched |
These prices are what shops have told us they pay for their ERP’s mobile add-on; check your own invoice for your exact number. The point isn’t the decimal place — it’s what you got for it.
You keep your system
This is the part people don’t believe until they see it.
- Your data never moves. Your system stays exactly where it runs today, and ServiceProof never copies your whole database.
- Your office changes nothing. Screens, reports and month-end stay the same, and dispatch still dispatches the way it always has.
- The work goes back into your system. What matters returns against the job it came in with, not into a separate system you later reconcile.
- No second source of truth. There’s nothing to reconcile at the end of the week, because your system is the only set of books.
If you cancel, you cancel an app. Your business carries on exactly as it did the day before, because everything your crews did is already in your system.
What switching your whole system really costs
Plenty of shops have looked at replacing their whole system because the mobile app was bad. That’s a very big answer to a fairly small question, and the bill isn’t the license fee:
The history you lose
Every service call, every part, every note going back years. Most migrations carry over a fraction of it, and the rest becomes a read-only archive nobody opens.
The months of disruption
Rebuilding price books, agreements, tax codes and workflows — while still answering the phone and running the trucks.
The office relearning everything
The people who know how to make your current system sing become beginners again, and that cost lands on your most experienced staff.
The money, before the subscription
Conversion, data work, configuration, training, the consultants who do it and the overtime for the staff who help them. That is spent before the new system has saved you a dollar — and it is spent whether or not you end up liking it.
Then the subscription starts, priced per technician, and it is not a small number. You are paying it on every truck, every month, forever — to solve a problem that lived in one app.
And you might still be unhappy
A new platform is a new set of compromises. The one thing you were actually trying to fix — the field app — you can fix on its own, this month.
One crew, working in the first week
A pilot is one crew, one workflow and one month. For an ERP we already connect to, that crew is running real jobs by the end of the first week, and nothing migrates, so there is no migration project.
Days 1–2
We connect to your system and show you your own customers, jobs and parts on a phone — yours, not a demo dataset.
Days 3–4
Your trucks, your warehouses and your people come across. You tell us who’s allowed to create work and who’s office-only.
Day 5
A couple of techs run real jobs on it. They don’t need training, which is the point of the design.
Then the rest
Add crews as fast as you like, then drop the old add-on’s licenses at the end of the month.
